Yeah but the 7 win team only needs to win three more games the next year and then they're 10-7 and have a chance. If you're 2-15 the best prospect in the world isn't swinging 8 games so you're fucked for at least another year. You should never, ever want to win 5 fewer games just to move up in the draft so you can drat a rookie and hope he can get you back to where you were before you gave up. Those extra wins are too hard to come by to just forfeit. You don't get out of a hole by digging an even deeper hole.

I hate that the failed movies have convinced people of this. The FF were A-tier MCU characters for decades, had some really awesome runs in the comics and were crucial parts of a bunch of important crossovers. They just have never got a good movie because they were owned by Fox (who eventually even fucked up the X-Men) and Disney (who fuck up everything).
