I was just thinking this morning how neckbeard archetypes like Comic Book Guy don't really exist anymore. Half of them moved on to Magic: The Gathering and League of Legends. And the other half trooned out. All of them spend 18 hours a day on Discord. I don't even know if The Simpsons uses him much anymore.

Tabletop players are the nerds that TV writers think Trekkies are. Every Trekkie I've met is a normal person with a job and family. But I've been to MTG tournaments that are every stereotype of the basement dweller whose never been in a serious relationship.
