I tried to like it, but didn't. Being stuck in one location, everything interesting had to come to them. Then, all too soon, it turned into a soap opera. Then the last two seasons were about a war; I got sick of military sci-fi a long time ago. But don't let me stop you; if you're into it, more power to you. Unlike the oldtrek geezers, I'm fine with people having different opinions.

I enjoyed ds9 a great deal. I thought the main cast was really great. I thought Quark, Sisko, Bashir, Odo, Garek, Dax, Dukat, Weyoun, Nog, Rom, Kira and Winn were all great characters. I thought Worf and Miles weren't really needed.

I liked the story arcs, I liked the changeling and the war over bajor. I thought it got a little too silly in the end with the superpowers, but overall I greatly enjoyed the setting and the variety between the war and comfy little episodes in between.

Ds9 is the last star trek I really liked chronologically, I could never get into voyager because I found the cast unlikeable

My favorite episodes of DS9 are about the ferengi saving the day by being opportunistic and showing everyone that there's a lot to be gained with peace.
Ferengi are are often written as greedy goblins that tries screwing everyone over the slightest of margins but in a galaxy full of warriors and schemers naked greed is often the greatest force for good.
