Not wrong though.
He had one purpose and served it. There's nothing left for him to do apart from recycling the same time travel plot.
Same with Blaze and Shadow, really, except at least people like them.

I hate Sonic's Worldians/Mobians/Blobians being used as NPCs because they all have generally more complex designs including hair, clothing and accessories which results in a weird situation where either the main cast feel somehow under-designed or the surrounding NPCs are notably over-designed and look out of place.

There's no winning with using what basically amounts to Sonic OCs as background characters because everyone comes off looking worse for it.
