When your genre is designed to be played for many hours at a time, the way to enjoy that for most people is to minimize the action and effort you have to put during those long hours.

It's not complicated. If I logged on only to play 2 or 3 maps then sure I have no problem playing piano on my keyboard. If I'm going to sit there for 5 hours then it's going to be really annoying to press 5 buttons every few seconds.
