I’m actually impressed by this so far. Expectation was near zero to be fair. But I think they avoided a lot of pitfalls with this idea. I wasn’t sure they could carry it for more than a couple of episodes (mini movie). Focusing on the corpo wars is good. Having more aliens is very good, and some interesting designs as well. But I think the android/cyborg thing is really the gem here.
The xeno is made a bit of a bitch but the mystery was wrung out of that shit by Aliens so acting like it’s some major loss or that they should keep it mysterious is retarded. You can’t restore it or put the genie back in the bottle. It’s just another alien monster now and in this show literally.
It’ll be interesting to see how far they can avoid making Xenos the star of the show simply because they’re marketable (this sunk the Ridley Scott sequels essentially, studio mandates more Xenos).
Best case more Bonus Situation corpo espionage and android existentialism. Worst case: Xeno learns to talk and argues for having just as much right to exist and how they need to start a queen egg to save their species.
