The whole entire character of Rebecca Chambers was created solely only because Mikami was a massive Homowood nerd in the 80's and 90's, and was schlicking HARD on "Murder By Death" (1976's Mel Brooks'esque absurdist black comedy), Alien, and Aliens. She was even directly named after Rebecca "Newt" Jorden from Aliens. Rebecca Chambers literally has same exact mannerisms and behavioral quirks/patterns as the one Rebecca Jorden was doing in Aliens, and the entire fucking last "Umbrella lab" section of first game is just a straight up copy-pasta shot-for-shot of Alien's and Aliens' ending sequence, all while 3D models of "flamethrowers" in first two games are ill-notorious for being just direct traces of flamethrowers from Alien and Aliens. Meanwhile, nearly 60% of all "puzzle" and "trap" rooms in the first game are just direct copy-pasta of "Murder By Death" (such as the memetic "falling ceiling room", "poison gas room", "animal head room", and even the "diner room").
Visually and physically, though, Rebecca Chambers was directly modeled on Yuki Uchida. A fuckton of video game devs and other creators were "utilizing" Uchida's looks and body physique/proportions for their shit, back in the 90's.
Basically every first-and-a-half short hair tomboy you ever saw in a 90's or early 2000's nip game, anime, or manga, was inspired or directly based on Yuki Uchida. Prime examples: Yan Feisu from Crisis Beat, Tenchu's Rin, Soul Edge's/Calibur's Seong Mina, Ruthee Katrea from Tales of Destiny, the infamous case with "Tamaki Uchida" of SMT series, Rin (yes, again, though this was before Tenchu's Rin) from "Soul of The Samurai", all of these were borrowing Uchida Yuki's looks, physique, clothing and visual style. And so many more.
