It just shows Critical Role has never been role-play, it's role writing. Liam's bloated backstory and goal requiring him to get to a high level made it clear the campaigns have scripted outcomes. They've always had consensual death. The whole cast is still terrible at encounters for a reason.
People early in C1 knew it was a fake game.
