Oh its real. I refuse to intentionally let it fuck up my life but I got demoted from middle manager because I cant pay attention in meetings and almost fall asleep, and kind of lost interest as well. I was more interested in the actual work than the leading anyway and still got a pay rise in any case..

For video games I have a habit to play them to completion. If I get disinterested I do something else like go for a walk (while obviously listening to something like podcasts since silence is death). I cant not do something. The greatest danger is boredom and it gives me actual psychic damage that can linger for a long time since the thoughts ads up and gets dark and I cant escape into my imagination like when I was a kid.
