Look at the fantastic Black Templar and Dark Angels refresh. Look at the beginning of the great Space Wolves refresh... and then there are Blood Angels. Gutted, declawed, degloved, turned into the worst version and the most hated version of Stormcast with a shitty upgrade sprue for Death Company.

When I was a young dipshit playing 3rd edition I thought backpack banners were kind of silly, why would a solder have a big ass flag waving around on top of him? Especially when you have dedicated dues whose job is already to have a big flag to wave around (Standard bearers). So I never put them on and clipped them off if they were built in. I had quite a lot of them in my bits box. Only much later after liquidating my entire collection do I see the folly of my ways and recognize the superiority of backpack banners. If I collected Space Marines again I'd be feeling a little sore over not having those spare banner poles.
