We build pensions usually not included in income, so less need for saving (lol you should anyway).
Euro salaries are not that much worse than US compared to cost of living, with exception of 6 digit jobs, those are actually not that common in the US either.
We probably spend less on holidays, many people don't leave their country even, most people have like 25-40 days paid time off. Probably also impacts salary a lot.
I think the GDP and debt situation in US is a bit weird
