I want to go somewhere end of August and now I'm thinking maybe Tatras mountain range would be cool for hiking and just stumbled on this thread and now kinda scared. I'd be there alone, going as early as possible to get nice landscape photographs. How woody is the national park? I was thinking more alpine grassland plateau.
Is it a bad idea going alone? Should I be really worried about bears?

What would you guys advise based on (pic related)?

orange: max distance I would go with a Flixbus = 11 hours max
red: max distance I would travel by plane
black: dont care for these areas
green: seems to peak my interest

I want to leave Switzerland for 7 days at the end of August, yet not sure where. Last week I was in Antwerpen, Brouge and Brussels. So I would not like to go there again. Not really a fan of city/urban/nightlife so I dont really care for city things... unless there is nice architecture like in Valencia. I want to be there for:

>good food
>cheap accomodation
>nice hikes
