Because instead of dripping into the eroding YM stocks you're putting the yield into spyi and qqqi that maintain NAV much better. ULTY pays weekly, msty has about double the yield of qqqi etc so it should be a net positive cycle.
The real maintenance comes from buying proper growth/divvie growth/btc.
This keeps ulty and msty fed so they keep the gibs going while NAV and payout inevitability decrease, but your portfolio won't be net negative like it would be if you were only yield chasing.
A 20k starter should grow exponentially in a few years with this.
