Seems like my dad's inheritance is going to be around 200k € for me, minus whatever inheritance tax bracket it ends up in. Relevant topic for me anyway since he has suffered from an early onset alzheimer's the past few years and won't be living that much longer. Makes you wonder whether all that wageslaving was worth it only to end up being a half-zombie by your mid 60s. No idea what my mum will leave for me; she's in great health anyway.

should i leave law college to study history?
i have been studying law for already 6 years now and it's not going well. i haven't passed an exam in more than 2 years. law is boring to me. should i switch to history? i find history really interesting and i didn't pick it 6 years ago because basically the only thing you can do with it is be a high school professor

This single picture probably made her more money than what I've earned the past 7 months in my well-paying job that required a master's degree. Really makes you think.

Not really but my field (marine engineering) was considered "dead" ~15 years ago. Now it's one of the better performing fields in this stagnating country. ~10 years ago when the field was starting to grow again, companies would send their delegates to universities and beg engineering students to work summers for them. I heard they got paid hefty salaries back then.
