That you only assess the situation as a non-japanese speaker, ergo you don't see the nuances of what is conveyed in the game in its mother tongue and why the Japanese online community comes to the conclusion of Regigigas being the same kind of giant as referred to in the plates.

You don't understand how characters can convey whole concepts and imply more than just a simple but an entire idea which isn't well translated into English. You just see "Colossal pokemon" and "Giants" as vague synonym that don't have validity of ideas with eachother.

But the characters used to convey the flame plate and describe Regigigas show an implicit relationship that is lost in translations, and without understanding japanese you will never get it.

You can bang your head against it day after day but you're stuck thinking like an English-bound westie that is unable to think in a different purview that is made self-evident in Japanese to the point the online community directly sees the link you don't in english and makes it so on their wiki.

I would implore you to try talking with people on 2chan or any japanese community to come to this realization that your skewed, mistranslated understanding of things isn't all that it is cracked up to be.

Sucker Punch, Tail Glow, Curse, Quiver Dance, and countless other things that are completely logical in the japanese version but in translation are completely lost .
