I barely use a mic when playing with friends because its not necessary. You point at something, and they know what needs to be done. A decent team has situational awareness and a solution to most problems, so mics aren't necessary.
If anything, you use the mic to talk shit about random crap, because you're in auto-pilot mode in the game.
