how have we reached a point where a mobile gacha game is less predatory and is more of a real MMORPG than Destiny 2?

I've been playing the gacha Destiny game that released last week and it's unironically better than Destiny 2 and feels more like a real MMO. While also being less predatory. I don't know whether that's a compliment or just shows how sad the current state of Destiny 2 is.
