Yes, its unequivocally true, but its much worse in the last couple years than it was during the middle 2010s in the first place. so naturally a lot of people will miss that era, specially those that just so happened to be in places where it still as sane as the 2000s

you are contradicting yourself. "I like this weapon but doing a backstab animation is more fun than actually attacking with the weapon" does not fundamentally add up
If the game was trivially easy you wouldnt even be bothering with backstabs, and you would probably want to indulge in more interesting forms to attack other than "r1 spam" so you can clear out bosses faster
