How to avoid hangover?

I don't drink often but I tend to binge drink when I do. My hangovers are getting worse. I always try to eat something after drinking and this used to be enough to essentially avoid any hangover, but now it seems like it's no longer enough.
I just spent the whole fucking day unable to eat anything while constantly feeling like I'm going to throw up. Such a complete waste of time.

What are some good solutions?
