Star wars has been dead for ages for most people. It's been like this for awhile, but for some reason it just hasn't hit everybody yet. Basically the whole "people just throw this on for white noise" is 100% true and real science fiction (science fantasty) shows are no longer profitable or sustainable for the small demographic that would even care about them.
I would watch something like Andor if it didn't have the star wars brand attached to it. I've read it's good, but then again- people also thought arcane was good. Disney will basically continue to balance on the tightrope until it's no longer financially viable, or perhaps they lose subscribers. Idk. Star wars has been buried for awhile though.
