Been replaying MGSV lately but I'm losing interest, maybe I'll play MGS2 again, or maybe some classic Resident Evil

Babylon 5, I'm not liking it as much as other sci-fi shows so far but it's pretty good sometimes

I can't stop feeling like I'm living in the wrong time. Being alive used to feel so good before 2020, but these days the future looks so bleak and the world feels so grim

>I had zero issues with MGSV taking itself seriously
i really like MGSV, i was just making a point of how many fans responded to it.
>The subject matter shouldn't be treated like an ironic joke just so people don't have a problem consuming it
that's not what i said, though. i said many people took issue with it because it is attached to a series that had previously been very silly, and it is tonal whiplash to go from the final boss of peace walker, a young woman pretending to be a teen in her underwear piloting a mech she stole from you while JPOP blasts in the background, to MGSV with its gitmo parallel, twin tower references, graphic torture (as opposed to the cartoony electric shock torture of previous entries), rape and sexual humiliation of POWs, etc. the issue is that you cannot ignore all of the previous content/tone that led to MGSV and then discard it. it isn't that people cannot consume that type of content without sugar coating, it is that taste of sugar is still in their mouth from previous entries and that is a distasteful contrast to the bitterness of MGSV.
