He probably can, but first he needs help to escape the endlessly self-reinforcing feedback loop he's stuck in, as well as escaping the veil of lies he currently finds himself in. And nobody is helping.
It really is a pitiful existence. Neither friends nor family, no one to really question his ethics and morals and putting it all into perspective. All he has is his own thoughts, his father's words and a ball that hypes him up every time he commits wanton destruction.
