They had something with the BB's in pre-Archie were they were trying to find their ancestral home (and the ship that took them to Mobius went boom when Sonic destroyed the Key). Post Reboot, the BBs were Eggman lackies with maybe hints to something more. Personally, I'd bring back the search for Babylonians, maybe even tie them into the Ancients, but that would require referencing Frontiers, which IDW is barred from doing.
