AI is not some sort of artificial being, for that you'll need to develope some sort of "awareness/consciousness" engine which as far as I know we don't really know how to do it yet, AIs like chat gpt or grok are an evolution of what old chatbots were back in the day, they had pre written dialogue ready to drop whenever a key word was read from the user but it always followed a flowchart so it felt robotic and always at some point reached a loop. Today chatbots generate the flowchart on the fly, that is possible because AI is like some sort of black box that you can train, give input and get some desired output so it is able to "simulate" conversation based on what it has already seen, it doesn't think, it doesn't understand what it is saying or what you are saying, it is guessing what is the next most human like response given it's training (what it has already seen from human conversations) and the previous set of messages, again, it doesn't think, it doesn't understand, believing the machine does it's an illusion.
Knowing that, no, there is no risk of AI going rogue, the BS headlines about "google's AI developed consiousness and some ex employee leaked it's conversations" headline from a couple of years ago was just a retard being tricked by the illusion, the "2 AIs developed their own language to comunicate so the scientists monitoring them could not understand them" was just the AIs finding the most efficient way to communicate which was what they were set to do, the "military AI went rogue and overrode human commands" headline was fake.
So we are not at risk of skynet taking over on it's own, HOWEVER, that doesn't mean it's not dangerous or scary because like most weapons it can be as dangerous and scary as it's made to be and it can be made dystopically dangerous and scary specially when the state is involved.
