What you and most of the replies are missing here is that GW doesn't give a single shit about the lore anymore and will just shove whatever they want into the story regardless of contradictions or even basic logic. If the introduction of Primaris didn't teach you that, I don't know what will.
Nah, this is just GW following the Disney route and trying to appeal to the mythical wider audience in hopes of becoming mainstream and please investors, a process that always spoils the product. That's it, that's all there is to it.
