>feels unnecessary, as the themes it explores and explains out loud have been a staple of the series since the beginning
And yet people still missed the point, complained about the humans being there and wanted "nonstop episodic adventures with Spear & Fang" to become Primal's "brand".

It wasn't there to explain the theme, it was there to enforce it and make a fun episode in the process. It also made it clear that a big part of the show was about the pretentiousness of humanity compared to Spear's simple instinct-driven actions - the Viking Chieftain's biggest flaw was his constructed idea of fairness & ritualistic revenge.

It's not because it's about execution. You guys just see dicks, poop and fuckwords and disregard everything else. At least Sausage Party tried to have cinematic presentation but suffered from not being cartoonist-driven - Big Mouth is just complete TV writer slop where visuals & direction do not matter AT ALL.

Primal didn't shit the bed at all and the ending was good >>149896636

I at least get having some issues with the end's pacing but if you took issue with the human focus in season 2 I truly think you fundamentally missed the point of Primal.

It's because "classy" or "artsy" creators can like stupid goofy shit too and they often very much do and are willing to give it huge production values. People also went "what da..." at Chicken Scratch. Katsuhiro Otomo made stuff like Hansel and Gretel.
