With the way the animation industry is heading, it's feels as if the industry is undergoing chemotherapy.

That's the impression I got. However, some could argue that there's little to no outsider animators, writers, and showrunners getting a show the way most of those people did, fueling those nepotism accusations. It also doesn't help that some of those shows had similar art styles.

>I remember hating Adventure Time when it was new strictly because I hated the shitty art style. If I wanted something about a boy going on adventures that's what the first Ben Ten cartoon was for. Same to old things like Teen Titans.

>Adventure Time is ugly lame looking shit by a shitty pedophile who can't draw and I find it disgusting how popular it is. Any kid who grew up on Adventure Time and liked it is a shit for brains. So its beautiful to hear that Adventure Time's writers turned the show into a feminism factory.

>Anyone who liked Adventure Time deserved to see the show shat on like that.
NGL, two things I DO agree with are writers ruining Adventure Time and its art style being kinda ugly-looking when compared to older /co/ shows and anime. As for the latter, there's nothing wrong with preferring some at styles over others.

To me, both Adventure Time's art style and blocky UPA art style kinda suck, but to each his own. Also, Adventure Time was among the first 2010 shows with simplistic, thin outline character designs and beanmouths. Of course, we all know how overused that art style became in just a few years after Adventure Time's debut. Pic related.

>Why are there no copycats?
Because by the 2010's, Klasky-Csupo's art style was apparently too distinctive and too much effort for several recent animators. The same animators got accustomed to simple, generic art styles that are easily rigged into 2D puppets as cost-cutting, time-saving moves to crank out episodes quickly.

One could also blame the cable networks (Nickelodeon, Disney Channel, Cartoon Network) for imposing strict deadlines with limited budgets and animation schools for not teaching that recent crop of animators to develop similarly distinctive art styles like in previous decades. Pic related was the result of this mess.

some shows with this style did really well a decade ago so it's the only thing that's been getting taught in art schools (scams)
