Are there even any western RPGs that are still relevant from the 80s/90s besides Baldur's Gate at this point? It feels like despite not being in favor like the JRPG boom of 20 years ago, only the Japanese properties really remained in any capacity.

It was fun to learn that they actually had cutscenes planned beyond just text boxes for so early in the JRPG lifespan, but things had to be cut for time and constraints- and then they slipped a little would-be art into the manual anyway.
