Where's the mister battle garegga high score? You keep moving the goal posts and being disengenous. The argument for mister, and in this OP in particular, is that mister is superior to software emulation, however, it sure seems like battle garegga "super players" prefer the ps4 version for very obvious reasons. You've already moved the goal posts to "well people upload WRs (we're already running away from shmup scoring now, gotta reframe this) on anything!" But the fact of the matter is, if this is the case then mister is clearly the loser, as M2 ports have features that don't exist on Mister while being 1/10 of the price. Additionally, by buying M2 ports you are supporting more ports and new games, whereas by buying a mister you're funding someone's HRT medication. This really isn't much of an argument, you lost like 5 posts ago.

That's not true though, fallout 1 ruined rpgs pretty much forever, and similiarly re4 ruined shooters AND horror games for like an entire decade. Only AAA games are heavily focus tested, but that's a very tiny portion of what releases and why would you play those in the first place? Furthermore, look at the snes. Umihara Kawase is the best and deepest platformer on that console hands down and nothing else comes close, but it's relatively unknown. If it released today it would have been a lot more popular. A lot of old games were really generic gameplay wise and the ones that weren't were ignored.

Just play OSRS or EVE if you want player economy. Any $50 budget toaster can run OSRS. Path of Exile can scratch that being a shopkeeper itch but you need a slightly decent CPU, and a good altogether rig for the sequel which is in beta. Would not play the console versions of those games since trade is facilitated through an external website and they require a lot of UI navigation in-game.
