Deep Gamer Thoughts
Something occurred to me recently. Why does even gacha have deeper and more complex gameplay than RPGs? Are RPGs the most casual genre?

>Why does even gacha have deeper and more complex gameplay than RPGs
It's an incredibly low bar. Watching paint dry in more mentally demanding than playing pretty much any highly praised CRPG. And this isn't even getting into slop like Diablo.

Gachas need to appear complex in order to convince the player that they are winning due to their deep understanding of the system, instead of just winning because their paid jpeg has higher numbers than the free jpeg. And also to trick the player into thinking they need a collection of different jpegs for different situations.

This is an objectively more complex system with more modularity and strategic purpose than, say, feat stacking in PF WotR or Underrail. If you're saying developers have to make a game of high quality to sell a product, well I wish, but obviously the existence of RPGs is evidence contrary to that. Like FF7 is basically one long netflix movie padded out with poorly made minigames. It's quite shit.

Uma Musume is basically the perfect example; it's "complex" enough that someone wrote a 136-page document explaining all the nuances, but a fully upgraded Kitasan Black gives enough raw speed to satisfy the scenario requirements on her own.
There's a huge amount of stats/abilities/systems, but in the end it really boils down to a game of just "is number big enough"

>in the end it really boils down to a game of just "is number big enough"
It's fairly trivial to hit stat caps in the game. This is another problem with WotR and Underrail and Diablo and so on, the numbers go up endlessly so there's few restrictions to work within. Like imagine someone pouring water. If it doesn't land in a container, well it's just a shitty puddle. However, in Uma Musume the bulk of benefits are from skills, not only can they decrease your opponent's hard capped stat values, but they also offer certain personal advantages on the track, can be strategically synergistic, and give you a ton of bonus points in and of themselves for activating. Furthermore, kitasan is lauded because it *frees* up a slot for other cards, as it functions as two speed cards. So you could, say, put a wit card in your deck instead, which will not only boost your skill activation bonuses, but also improve your training overall by making tapping wit restore more energy.
Anonymous No.719172178
>>719171779
Yes, all these conditional circumstances add depth, as no one can reasonably hit all of them in a limited amount of time, especially not on a team of 15 characters, which additionally requires legacy horses in its construction. The best they can do is work with what they've got, making the challenge dynamic and replayable.

Gacha need more complex mechanics than the average RPG, because they need to push those for their newest meta waifu PvP monster so people will pay a gazillion dollars for their ingenuity. You won't get that if it was just "one extra attack to your chain" or "you can press to dodge mid attack chain". The more PvP there is, the more synergy the devs also have to include to make some whale lineups work even better with each other until someone else can be slotted in thanks to their more bullshit skills than what the previous meta monster had.

If your thread has very active organic discussion and it's constantly on the catalog beyond the "release hype" jannies are instructed to view them as generals and delete them. It's a feature of the moderation designed to keep things "fresh" in theory. But in practice of course this leads to useless troons desperate for power to police the board into what they like and delete what they don't like. Which is where you get the hypocrisy of off-topic /pol/bait and porn threads staying up for days being bumped by the jannies themselves when they are on page 9 while any good threads that pick up steam are killed.

There is no reasoning with these retarded jannies, they're dedicated to keep the site bleeding users. You got two options go to /vg/ or keep hiding like jews under floorboards until they give up, I don't blame you for either. 4chan has been utter shit since gamergate but after the shutdown it truly has become unusable. Wait, what's this about races and sparks? Is this just more for trying to get the sparks for a particular race length?

RPGs are just like every other genre, there is good and there is bad, but there is a lot of weirdos and retards that float this genre, which is kinda sad but its a genre for people who don't have social life.

Also i noticed a thing with CRPGs, it attracts people who think more is good, CRPG fans think the bigger wall of text you have that means your story is deep, the more brown and grimdark the world looks that means its mature, the more serious and grounded the tone is that means the game is le immersive
CRPG fans think that the more feats and skill you do and the more builds you can make the more depth gameplay is, which is false.
They think the more unbalanced and poorly designed the encounter is the better and more hardcore it is.

It wasn't like this before, i dont know what happened.

JRPG fans are not much better either they are just less pretentious

An uma winning the same graded races as their parent(s) will increase the affinity per race when that uma is used as a legacy themselves. This is later changed to only count G1s at an increased rate, so it's most efficient to just do G1s.

Winning a G1 or the URA finale can also give you a unique white spark named after that specific race, which are either stat boosts or skill hints.

Wait fuck ignore me, I looked at the wrong colour. You do have enough stam. It's pretty close though, if you meet any stamina eaters it's not going to be pretty.
