NO. The indie scene is only benefiting a handful of people. Everyone else is fucking struggling. People absolutely NEEDED all those grunt jobs that the mainstream industry provided because that was how people got experience, benefits, 401ks, a steady paycheck. The indie scene is 75% people dropping animatics on YouTube hoping for traction, 15% Kickstarter projects hoping for traction, 8% actual jobs, and 2% thriving showrunners who get to make their passion project.
