Yeah, SatAM's a great show. A bit slow but fun. It's like an animated version of the third doctor's adventures if you're a Who fan.
I love Blobian Dominated Resistance Fighter Sonic.
Underground is comparatively a rushed hackjob of a cartoon and AoSTH is mostly just Sonic 2 adaptation slapstick fun, can be nice but only really as background noise to a conversation. AoSTH isn't meant to be 'watched' perse so much as it is noise for the background.

Sonic on a quest to gather the Chaos Emeralds as an action hero movie so he can stand against the Phantom Ruby, the sole source of Eggman's control. While Tails tries to research and observe the Ruby's effects to develop a counter to it of his own, working alongside Amy, Knuckles, and the Avvatar as the b-plot. Adventure 2 style story. High stakes. A lot of action. Tons of globetrotting. No resistance. No organization. Just Sonic and Tails working together, like the wind.
It's a classic Doctor Who plot. Finding the one crack in the antagonist's scheme to send it tumbling down. An antagonist who is powerful and falls to the wind. But without facing a huge resistance. Just one man. [Spoiler]The Doctor. I mean, Sonic, Sonic the Hedgehog.
