I'm being autistic and take piercings as even earrings. But yes, something did happen to girls. Probably their ever screaming need for attention and to continuously outdo other girls to the point where they are such a mess to look at they look like they belong in a car wreck. Because you are not allowed to tell a girl what you actually like. And what screams more attention then "I dress all black, am evil and have a fascination with death. But I will still act slutty and playful for the camera."
Those nose rings I see everywhere now are the worst offenders.
