Andor is closer to ANH than just about everything else because "muh Jedi, muh Sith" took the franchise over like a cancer. It'd be like you rewrote the history of WW2 and made it exclusively about the Thule Society vs Qabalah. No Normandy, no Stalingrad, no Midway. Just a bunch of fucking wizards wiggling their fingers at one another. Andor actually showed what the non-Jedi were doing and what they had to sacrifice, and it was great. I honestly hope we never get anything Jedi or Sith related ever again, that story is done.

I completely agree. As bad as Disneyslop is, the EU blazed the trail for many of the terrible decisions that would later be made in the Sequel trilogy along with its own unique retardation. People point to gems like EU Thrawn, but then completely forget shit like Luke falling to the Dark Side and Palpatine's clones and so on and so forth.
