The complaints are definitely coming from a weird spot. As someone who would perpetually use the same equipment on a per-faction basis up until quite recently it's honestly been nice that you're being forced to use gear that you haven't before if you weren't just a regular casual fun-haver
it's really shifted my take on the game since I've been having a lot more fun using things I previously didn't like the ABRL or the Constitution or the arc tower or even the Purifier
I think people are just unhappy that they're not able to wear light armor anymore without paying an even heavier price than before or unhappy they can't use something like an eruptor super close quarters as well because of how often shit jumps at you
This update fucking rules and each game has been really fun, especially when the hive lord shows up
