We don't live in a world that supports natural selection anymore. Clinging to that will only make our own undoing. Times have changed and will continue to change. If we didn't progress our tolerance for others, we would all still be beating eachother with rocks in our tribes. We use Missiles nowadays and our tribes are full nations, but that just proves my point that letting other with varying experience and traditions into your tribe helps your tribe grow smarter & stronger.
