Ah well fuck me, I think I've made a mistake in buying the moonrune variant of this keyboard. The functions enabled by the function key don't work aside from the Fn+F4 sleep function; adjusting brightness through the function keys doesn't work, and the symbols enabled by the shift modifier are shifted over one key compared to the legends that are written on the keys themselves. That is an issue with the keyboard layout (I assume), and at least fixable with some configuration on GNU+Linux, but I still have to go through the trouble of configuring it.
Some other issues irrespective of the keyboard layout/registering of keys, is the fact that the backspace and spacebar are chode-sized, and that there are all these weird keys with Chinese legends. The keyboard types like shit too, it feels all mushy. I thought it'd me similar to one of the older model thinkpads. Even the chiclet-style xx30 keyboards feel better than this. This shit's too thin too. At least it stays in place when I'm typing. Still feels like using it will give me arthritis.
There's also the fact that one of the nav buttons doesn't fucking work (well). The entire point of me buying this keyboard was because I wanted to navigate with the nipple while in bed, and didn't want to pay all that much for a Tex Shinobi. I thought this would have sufficed.
Maybe other, older IBM thinkpad-style keyboards are different. Maybe I just got unlucky with Chang's shitty CQ--Chinamen still make these. Maybe this keyboard is just shit.
Fuck me, I knew I should've just gone with the Franch layout one; I don't even know Korean.
