>Probably reaching, but like to try to make sense of things
They are just monitoring/communication stations. Not like they need to go anywhere.
>Then why even have feet
There isn't really any infrastructure. Roads, power lines, transportation. The tallnecks ARE the infrastructure. Walking robots are kind of a deployment Holy Grail. No need to smooth out a road if you can just walk over it. Even if it's slow, the ability to walk itself go where it's required would be super useful and way quicker than building a road.
>Why wander in circles when deployed? Why not just sit and chill?
Triangulation? You can pinpoint stuff if you listen for a signal from different spots. It wouldnt be very useful for a moving signature but if another robot broke down the tallneck can figure out exactly where it is just by listening for it's call in different points in its loop.
>Tallneck paths are too small for that
Maybe. They are also super sophisticated. Maybe a couple hundred meters of difference is all it needs. Also space is kind of compressed in the game. They are probably walking a loop that is a couple miles wide.

Man, I'm fine with S rank being tricky and I know the further I get in the harder it'll be to get compliance but why the fuck are a couple of schmucks running a server farm and a furry streamer so willing to light up the fucking police? Am I missing something? I mean I know giving everyone beanbag guns would help but maybe I'm not being loud and scary enough? The trigger happy teammates is one thing but people don't seem to surrender unless I'm super fucking lucky. Is breaching loud the wrong option? Do warning shots not work? Am I missing something that'll lower morale more? I just want S on at least the first two missions then I'll murder hobo more.
