I have thought of this extensively, and I really do think I would quickly devolve into a mass murderer. There are many points when I have been incredibly frustrated while stuck in traffic or something where if I could have pressed a button and deleted everyone in front of me I would have done it. Even if I were to assume that once I had super powers I didn't use them in simple violent outbursts, it would be just a matter of time after I was superpowered that I saw some grave injustice perpetuated due to something wrong with the system, and I'd solve it by killing people.
Example, I have a friend whose house had a lien put on it because the HOA sent him bullshit fees he refused to pay. If I were in a situation like that and were superhumanly powerful I would probably just kill that person, and then kill whoever tried to take me in and make a public statement that I would kill anyone trying to come for me or my family going forward. Whenever I think of myself getting superpowers in the realm of super strength and endurance and follow it logically, it always eventually comes to some kind of wall where I just solve it with violence. And since this world's only solution to violence is more violence to stop me, I wouldn't be able to be stopped. So I would just end up being some kind of murderer at the least, and eventually a dictator at worst. I think that's true of most people.
Anyone that claims they are uncorruptible are the most corrupt, they either do not know it or they know it and want to pretend they are special.
