I think they are most jealous of my youth, so long as you don't waste your time how you treat the money isn't important.
There's at least one guy who worked his ass off and retired before he hit 40 and seems proud of that fact, but I can tell he's somewhat lost in his newfound freedom and available time and just spends it volunteering as a groundskeeper.
Imagine being done working just to go hop on a lawnmower to have some kind of value, purpose, and sense of belonging. I don't envy that. People get weird when they don't have to worry about survival directly.
