People don't believe me when I say that the character writing in wuwa is actually pretty strong. As in, characters feel like they exist in the world and not as a mouthpiece for the writer. Which is a HUGE problem in CN writing because they love their philosophy and wuxia -isms where nothing of value gets said. Or they talk like robots where they feel the need to do full on expository dialogue inbetween their normal dialogue.
