I sometimes 'fetishize' the Internet of old back when didn't need to solve a captachia ever time you open a new website up in a tab and when you didn't need a million throwaway email accounts to browse an post in various forums and when the UK and Australian were so technologically inept they effectively couldn't regulate and censor the Internet to death and back when m00t was the king of 9Gag.

I certainly do appreciate modern SSD's being a thing and AMD's integrated graphics being good enough to not even need an eGPU in many cases less your doing 3D rendering and animation stuff but there is something to be said about the aesthetic SOVL that was common place back then, companies actually put effort into trying to make their products stand out.
