It's incredibly sad how well this book has aged. Mearsheimer may be incredibly hit or miss like all realist school types, but I was very impressed with how much he hit the nail on the head with this book, and I also see why it cause such a massive firestorm on release back in the day given he was the first serious American foreign policy figure to approach and address the issue.

Because Israel kills people using our weapons and funds their war using our money, and we have no say in it. If it were some backwater third world conflict like Burma I wouldn't care, but the U.S has been intimately involved in Israel's shenanigans for decades at this point and covering for them diplomatically largely due to the disproportionate influence of several groups and intelligence dedicated to keeping the U.S tied to Israel.
