Yeah, that's what I'm talking about. Being high and mighty only serves you so well when you have nothing to argue back; you've never experienced it for yourself, after all. That's setting yourself up for failure from the get-go.
Imagine how everyone else feels: some want to play the game in its entirity, some want to push the boundaries, some want to make the happy ending at all costs, maybe some even get a big kick out of it; now how can you convince 'em of anything when you don't even mull the thought of it around?
Reality's bland enough already, bound by rules and the like. You think reading a book about being good no matter what is what it needs? I think we had one of those already, pretty great stuff actually-- point is, everyone knows that. Being "good" is tough. But being "good" in a video game just because you feel like it?
I know the feeling, like it's a way for me to tell myself I'm "good" deep down, if given the chance that is. That sort of thing though-- sounds like you're trying to convince yourself, and maybe in reality you're just a shitty person!
And that's how you can connect with everyone. Really, embrace it. You're moral, you're good, but you're never given the chance to prove it. Keep it in your heart, make it part of who you are, embrace the little things that keep you who you are instead of using 'em to hold yourself over everyone else. They're just as lonely as you, after all.
