Posting up a shortened version of my schizobable 1/2

The prophecy has changed, the words have always stayed the same, but the characters have all been swapped around from their intended roles. The true heroes of legend are Goner with (you), Asriel and Dess with Kris being the intended roaring knight and Noelle being "the girl".

Arguments for this boil down to a few key points, firstly being that it fits the prophecy much more closely in describing the human soul with cage and parts, Dess had love find her already with Asriel being her bf and Asriel is most likely the first person to discover dark worlds, which is why he created Castle Town, the everlasting dark fountain it runs on AND left Ralsei (a valentines plush Dess made of him before she disappeared) with instruction to try and attempt to subvert the prophecy for the better, Toriel and Asgore getting their crowns in dark worlds confirm this idea even further.

Secondly, Kris is the only true knight in the entire game, they are the only character seen utilizing a traditional knight's arsenal, while the "Roaring Knight" is much less pronounced as a knight, they use a bat, no shield and seemingly has no armor, the visor is fake and they look more like an eldritch beast when using their full power. The attitudes seem different as well, the Roaring Knight doesn't really seem to be protecting anyone or anything per say while Kris absolutely sticks up for and protects their friends, independent of our influence even though their and the Knight's interests line up to some degree.

Thirdly, the Roaring was likely supposed to happen on a shorter timescale compared to the scenario we find ourselves in Deltarune which is why we're starting to see little holes pop up in multiples pieces of the prophecy. The panel and subsequent room showing "the girl" pasted everywhere is showing us that there are now divergent paths for a prophecy that was supposed to be clear-cut and straightforward, something has changed, I think the iconography is showing how Noelle will NOW have to be "the girl" to complete the prophecy and it will happen regardless if you take control in weird route or not (hence the panels both with and without hearts). Gerson is also hammering this in during the whole chapter while interacting with you and especially Susie, different interpretations can and likely will make a difference in this prophecy.

I feel all these post saying that the prophecy has already been broken miss the point. The prophecy hasn't been broken yet, everything is going according to plan and how it was predicted. I've seen alot of anons parrot this, but the way each chapter gets fully data mined and combed over for secrets has trolled toby multiple times, and in hindsight some things would have more impact if more chapters were available. I'll be honest, I think most of the time with these type of things that are delayed or are episodic, the developers actively try to see people's theories on what will happen next to defy them or fix them so they're not a 100% prediction.
So sure the general big plot points exist but I am 100% convinced nobody will be right about who the Knight is because they will just not make them the one you guessed, after all Kris bought a headband with horns, who's the say the horns weren't like that of the Holiday family since he spent so much time with them?

Asriel did something out of grief for Dess that put the world out of balance and generated the shadow crystals.
Carol is assisting Kris in finding Dess. She is coordinating with Kris and a third party to open Dark Fountains to help find Dess. Notably the Knight Crew DOES NOT WANT to start the Roaring, and is very particular about making sure Kris has the Soul on hand in the Dark World to seal the fountains, kill the Titans, and stop the Roaring from happening.

The entity we see in the Dark World is not a person but an artificial thing being controlled by the third member of the Knight Crew to lure the Heroes through the Dark Worlds. He's the metaphysical incarnation of the game's cutscene-triggers system. Mike is objectively real, and seems to have a real personality (which comes off rather capricious about what he does and doesn't do). But as the schizo-Pippin remarks, it is literally impossible for anyone within the game (or outside of the game) to witness him. He can just do things without ever having to physically interact with the game world itself.
