I was going to say something similar. Kris cares about Susie and Ralsei, it's clear, he doesn't care only because they're useful to me, there's something deeper, otherwise he wouldn't get angry when monster kid talks badly about Susie, or he wouldn't hug Ralsei when he's feeling sad, there would be no point in that if they were just pawns to him.

But, the truth is, he is using them, there is something that needs to be done, even if it hurts his friends, he has to do it, it's absolutely imperative for him to accomplish this. This is also why I'm not angry at him, atleast not yet, if he's willing to hurt people he truly cares about to do this, then it really must be important, so I will reserve my judgement of him until we really see what he's working towards.
