Many of the people in the incel community (male and female) have romanticized sex to be worth far more than it is. While it is true that a good intimate relationship will almost inevitably lead to sex these men and women have made sex in and of itself the goal rather than the relationship. These are lonely people who without realizing it will use other lonely people to fill a void within themselves and project their wants onto another person without truly seeing the other person for whom they are or working for the other party's fulfillment and actualization.
This is the main reason that the depressed autistic loner subculture has so many failed relationships in it. A lot of women can see this happening without being able to put words to it while a lot of guys can project this without realizing it and whilst still thinking that what they want is "true love" which leads to friction between the sexes.
