That picture alone is a prime example of proof that America lost Vietnam.
In modern conflicts, optics quite often matter much more than actual gains or losses on the ground in the long run.
On a sidenote, does anyone have the picture from (I believe) Iraq that looks almost identical to the one of the last chopper from Saigon? Same story, different decade.
