this could be combined with the bug protein movement. we could grind up crickets and mealworms and process the goo into a dense aspic reduction with stabilizers so it can be eaten in bar form on the way from the ration depot back to the pod complex. it could also be used for lamp and stove fuel, eliminating the need for infrastructure that would only be vandalized and cannibalized for resale value
