Characters in stories do. Especially fairy tales. The Park family purposely adopts exaggerated antiquated fantasy personas and they make an effort to speak extra formally and poetically. Especially in flashbacks, which are also romanticized with stuff like the stylistic framing. Their unrealistic speech patterns fit their characters fine, I think.
What I don’t get is the implications made by the actual wording. If Lolivia is really like nine years old, how much of a past could she possibly have to fade away? Fans are speculating that her mother has died or something and that’s some source of trauma for her, which could be true. But a singular incident like the death of a loved one isn’t much of a “past,” so what “past” is he referring to? Where did she come from before now?
